Judicial Mercy Withheld Once More

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A federal appeals court has again denied a request for a rehearing in the case of Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged Florida woman whose feeding tube was removed March 18.

The ruling dashes one of the last remaining hopes for Bob and Mary Schindler, who are desperately trying to prolong the life of their daughter, whose feeding tube was removed 12 days ago. Schiavo is expected to die in the coming days.

The court has now denied the Schindlers their petitions four times.
